Selank

Selank was synthesized by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the 1990s. It was designed as an anxiolytic companion to Semax, focusing on emotional stability and immune health. What it is: Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) modeled after the endogenous immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin. It is a nootropic and anxiolytic peptide. Proposed Mechanisms & Research Findings: It acts by modulating the GABAergic system, increasing expression of BDNF, and regulating the degradation of enkephalins.
