Systemic HormonesUnregulated/Therapeutic
Epithalamin
Synonyms: Epithalamon, Pineal Gland Extract, Bovine Pineal Extract
Sequence: Pineal gland polypeptide complex (mixture of short peptides)
History & Discovery Timeline
Epithalamin was extracted from bovine pineal glands in the 1970s by Vladimir Khavinson, designed to restore pineal hormone secretion and slow biological aging.
What it is: It is a natural pineal peptide extract, the precursor concept to Epitalon. It falls under Anti-aging/Cosmetic.
Proposed Mechanisms & Research Findings: It acts by stimulating melatonin synthesis, improving tissue sensitivity to insulin, and regulating gonadotropic activity to extend cellular lifespan.
Regulatory & Safety Status: It is not FDA approved. Restricted to clinical trials and gerontological studies in Russia. Gray-market online sourcing is unverified and unsafe.
Athletic & Anti-Doping Status: It is not prohibited by WADA.
